The Lumberyard District in Clermont, Florida Set for Major Growth with New Mixed-Use Developments (featured)

Clermont, Florida, is poised for significant transformation as record-breaking land values in Lake County fuel an influx of new development projects in the region. Much of this growth is centered in and around Clermont, the county’s largest city, where ambitious plans are underway to revitalize downtown and expand residential, commercial, and entertainment offerings.

Among the most anticipated projects is the new Lumberyard District, a mixed-use development set to transform 12 acres of downtown Clermont along the south bank of Lake Minneola. Developed by local firm Wolfe & Wallace Properties Inc., the Lumberyard District received city council approval last December and is expected to bring a dynamic blend of residential and commercial spaces to the area.

The development plans call for 392 apartments, including live-work units and at least one building featuring two-story apartments above ground-floor retail. In addition to housing, the project will include a two-story parking garage, an amenity clubhouse with a pool, and 53,100 square feet of commercial space. These features are designed to create a vibrant, self-contained community hub that supports a modern urban lifestyle.

Other notable projects in Clermont include Olympus—a sprawling 243-acre master-planned community in the southern part of the city—and extensive proposed development along Wellness Way, both of which have attracted significant investment and interest from developers.

As Clermont continues to capitalize on its strategic location and growth potential, these development projects are expected to not only enhance the city’s urban landscape but also stimulate economic activity and improve quality of life for residents. With a clear vision for the future, Clermont is positioning itself as a model for urban revitalization and sustainable growth in Florida.
